I wrote about what men do at home when they don’t love their wives anymore, and it is one of our most-read posts on this blog.

Which tells me two things.

One, a lot of people are in marriages where somebody has stopped loving somebody else.

And two, women read that post and immediately started wondering if the same thing could be happening on their end, and if their husbands were somewhere reading the same signs and recognizing them.

So here we are.

Love leaving a marriage is not a male-exclusive experience.

Women fall out of love too.

And unlike men, who tend to withdraw, women are far more subtle about it.

We keep showing up to the marriage in all the practical ways, while something major has already left.

This post is not to make you paranoid about your own marriage or send you analyzing your wife’s every move over dinner.

It’s for the woman who wants to be honest with herself about where her heart actually is and for the husband who has been feeling something he couldn’t name.

Now he can name it.

Women Who Don’t Love Their Husbands Anymore Do These 6 Things At Home

1. She Stops Cooking For Him With Love

Some months ago, my friend cooked for a group of us, and as we were eating, her husband laughed and said, “Babe, you put your emotions inside this food.”

Everybody laughed.

The food was salty enough to baptize us into the Atlantic Ocean.

And immediately, I understood what he meant.

As women, our emotions leak into everything, especially the way we care for people.

If a woman loves you, she will serve you with love, not because women belong in kitchens.

It’s because love has a way of showing up in effort, and love makes people attentive.

A woman who has stopped loving her husband will cook because she has to, not because she wants to nurture him.

So yeah, the house may still function, but the warmth behind those things is not there.

This does not mean women must prove love through cooking.

Some women hate cooking even when they are madly in love.

The point is not the kitchen itself, but emotional investment.

2. She Stops Making Herself Attractive At Home

Notice that I did not say she stopped making herself attractive.

I said she stopped making herself attractive at home.

Some women will dress beautifully for work, slay for outings, take gorgeous selfies, and step outside looking like the soft life president of their nation.

But once they enter the house, it’s zero effort and interest.

Yes, women do not exist to decorate themselves for men.

But when you genuinely love your husband and still feel emotionally connected to him, there’s usually a part of you that still wants him to look at you and think, “That’s my woman!”

I remember wearing one of my nightgowns some days ago, and my husband saw me during a video call and immediately said,

“Wow! That’s beautiful. When did you buy it?”

I was happy that he noticed.

Meanwhile, the nightgown had been sitting in my wardrobe quietly like an underrated actor waiting for breakthrough.

But his reaction made me feel seen as a woman, not just as “mummy of the house.”

Women who are in love with their husbands enjoy being admired by their husbands.

But a woman who is no longer in love with her husband doesn’t care what he thinks of her and how he feels about her.

All her energy is focused on impressing others, not her man.

3. She Stops Laughing At His Jokes

Sometimes my husband will say, “Babe, let me tell you something funny.”

And sometimes the story is fighting for its life because it’s not remotely amusing or even smile-worthy.

But I still laugh.

Not fake “Hollywood actress” laughter, but that soft, amused reaction you naturally give someone you love because their joy becomes part of your joy.

Love makes people generous emotionally.

When you love somebody, you laugh at their jokes and listen to their stories.

When you don’t, everything they do and say will irritate you, and their jokes will sound childish.

Even their mere presence will be exhausting.

We underestimate how much friendship sustains romantic love.

Some couples are surviving today because they still genuinely enjoy each other’s company.

That playfulness matters more than people realize.

4. She doesn’t care where he is or when he’s coming back

Even on the days I’m pissed at my husband, and he’s out, I still stare out of the window waiting for his return.

Because I love the man.

Imagine being angry and still missing him at the same time!

Marriage is somehow like that, and loving someone means their absence registers.

You want to know they’re okay.

You want them home, even when home is tense.

In a healthy marriage, anger is a form of caring because you can only be properly annoyed by someone whose presence matters to you.

A woman who has fallen out of love with her husband doesn’t care about his whereabouts.

He said he’d be home by seven. It’s nine-thirty, and she hasn’t looked up from what she’s doing because she doesn’t care, not because she’s busy.

And that unbothered indifference about where her husband is and when he’s returning is one of the most devastating signs that love has left the building.

Because you always wonder about the people you love.

5. She stops praying for him or with him

If you are religious, you already know that prayer is not just a spiritual activity.

It’s an act of love.

When you pray for someone, you are saying this person matters enough to me that I’m involving heaven in their life.

You are caring in the most invisible and most powerful way possible.

I pray for my husband, not because it’s the Christian wife checklist item number four.

I do because I love him, and I want God’s hand on his life, and I cannot imagine not caring enough about a person to bring them to God.

I pray for my friends that I care about.

A woman who loves her husband prays for him naturally.

She might not make it a whole production, but somewhere in her private conversation with God, her husband has a standing mention.

When his name disappears from her prayers, something has definitely shifted in her heart because you cannot genuinely intercede for someone you have stopped caring about.

Prayer requires you to want something for another person badly enough to ask God for it on their behalf.

6. She stops initiating touch

Even though they say men are the more physical ones in relationships, a woman who loves her husband touches him.

I touch my husband often, and half the time I don’t even notice I’m doing it until he reacts.

I touch his arm while talking, rest my legs on him while watching TV, hug him, touch his beard for absolutely no reason except that it’s there.

It’s just what happens when someone feels like home to you.

You want to be physically close to them because proximity to them feels good.

Touch is a language, and women speak it fluently when they’re in love.

So, when a woman stops touching her husband, there’s trouble in paradise.

That’s why sometimes, people stop holding each other long before they stop calling each other husband and wife.

Now that you know the signs, what do you do?

First, don’t read posts like this and immediately start diagnosing your wife like an FBI agent with WiFi.

One sign does not automatically mean a woman has fallen out of love.

Life happens.

But when several of these signs start happening consistently together, then you should take it seriously.

Don’t panic, but be aware.

That’s why you should not just ask, “Does my wife still love me?”

Ask, “Does my wife still feel loved by me?”

That’s the uncomfortable question you should ask yourself.

Because sometimes women emotionally shut down after feeling unappreciated, unwanted, unheard, or emotionally alone for too long.

I’m not blaming men here; women, too can damage marriages badly.

But this post is specifically about what many women experience when love is fading.

The beautiful thing, though, is that emotional connection can be rebuilt if a couple is willing.

So if you notice some of these signs in your marriage, don’t just become defensive or angry.

Pay attention, reconnect, and talk honestly.

Sometimes, the difference between a marriage that survives and one that dies is whether a couple notices the problems early enough to do something about them.
