When you treat your partner unfairly because you know they love you too much, so they will always tolerate you and never leave you, then you are taking them for granted.

You might even be taking your partner for granted without knowing.

The following ways are signs you are taking your partner for granted:

3 Signs You Are Taking Your Partner for Granted

1. Unreciprocated Gestures

Relationship/marriage is a partnership affair, not a sole proprietorship, thus, all hands must be on deck to make love work.

It takes two to tango.

You take your partner for granted if you fold your arms and watch them see to the running of the relationship alone.

They always do the calling, initiate chats, send text messages, plan dates, buy gifts etc. and you never reciprocate the gestures.

Even when you know should do these; you resist because you know they’ll do it.

Your partner will always call even if you don’t call. Sometimes, you even ignore their calls for no reason because you know they will always call back.

You are taking them for granted.

2. Unappreciated Gestures/Efforts

You take your partner for granted when you have become so used to their show of love that you no longer thank them for it or you belittle their efforts. You even develop a sense of entitlement.

You are used to getting gifts, so you no longer thank them when you receive them. You don’t appreciate your partner for delicious meals prepared, for bills paid, help rendered etc.

You think it’s their duty, so appreciating them is unnecessary.

3. Unapologetic Attitude

You take your partner for granted when you refuse to apologize for your wrongs because you think they love you too much, they’ll get over it or even apologize as they always do.

Lack of respect for your partner’s feelings and thinking apologizing to them is a big deal is simply taking them for granted.

If you are guilty of all these, you need to repent before it’s too late.

Don’t ruin a beautiful relationship by taking your partner for granted. A lot of people have lost amazing partners as a result of this.

If the reason you are taking your partner for granted is because you have fallen out of love, talk to your partner about it and decide on how to make your relationship better, especially if you are married.

If you are still dating and you don’t want to be in the relationship anymore, then quit honourably instead of hurting their feelings.

The most important thing is how a relationship ends, not the end itself.

Don’t leave some sour memories in the other person’s mind.
