8 Signs He Wants To Marry You in a Long Distance Relationship

8 Signs He Wants To Marry You in a Long Distance Relationship

Sharing is caring!

A long-distance relationship is difficult, but it can be easier if you have the right person.

So you’re in a long-distance relationship, and your partner has already told you he loves you, but how do you know if he wants to marry you?

My husband and I had a long-distance relationship.

We are married now, obviously, lol.

So I consider myself quite an authority on this topic.

I’ll share bits of my personal experiences.

What are the signs he wants to marry you in a long distance relationship?

Let’s go!

8 Signs He Wants To Marry You in a Long Distance Relationship

  1. He’s willing to travel to see you

signs he wants to marry you in a long distance relationship

This one is obvious, but it’s important because one of the biggest challenges in a long-distance relationship is that your partner lives in another city, state, or country.

My husband and I were on different continents!

He was in Europe, and I was in Africa.

Tough!

But he traveled down to see me.

Our love story is quite an interesting and courageous one.

If your guy is willing to travel for work or other reasons, then he could also be willing to travel for the sake of meeting up with you to spend more time together physically rather than just virtually.

If he says no when you ask him if he’d like to visit or come over, there might be another reason he doesn’t want to do so (like financial or immigration reasons).

So if you’ve been dating a guy in a long-distance relationship for a while and he’s not making efforts toward seeing you.

Or if you can travel and he’s not letting you visit, something is wrong somewhere.

2. He tells his friends and family about you

When couples start dating seriously, they tend to tell their friends about each other.

They might mention them by name or even show pictures of them on their phones when they get together with mutual friends and family members. I

f he’s comfortable enough to tell his people about you, he’s serious about you.

My husband told his parents about me and even shared their contacts with me.

I knew he meant business.

3. He thinks about your future together

Maybe he talks about getting married in the future, or maybe he mentions how nice it would be if you two were closer together geographically so that you could spend more time with each other.

In any case, if he talks about his future with you and what it might look like when you’re together again, then it could mean that he wants to marry you one day.

4. He communicates with you consistently

In a long-distance relationship, communication is important.

You want to know what’s going on with your partner, and they want to know the same about you.

Your long-distance boyfriend, who is serious about marrying you, will stay in touch with you.

He will send thoughtful texts and emails as well as phone calls and FaceTime sessions whenever possible.

It doesn’t matter if it’s just a few words or if he writes paragraphs about how much he misses you and loves being with you.

It just matters that he makes an effort to keep in touch with you because this shows that his feelings for you are genuine and strong enough for him to want to stay connected with you somehow.

I remember my husband used to call me whenever he was going to work and on his way back.

We also chatted here and there in between.

If your long-distance boyfriend frequently ghosts you, he’s not serious about you.

5. He invites you home for the holidays

If your guy invites you home for the holidays, he wants you to meet his family and connect with them intimately.

He knows how important his family is to him and understands how important meeting them can be for any new relationship — especially when it’s long distance.

Inviting someone home for the holidays shows that he has high hopes for this relationship and is ready to take it seriously by showing off his new love interest.

6. He asks about your future plans

He might ask about where you want to live, work, or go to school and if those plans align with his own.

If he asks how long you think it will take for you two to get married, that’s a positive sign he wants to marry you.

I remember my husband asking me this question during the talking stage.

He said he didn’t want to wait too long to get married, so he needed to know when I wanted to settle down.

If this is your experience, your long-distance guy is serious about you.

7. He wants to meet or speak with your people

A man who is serious about you will be eager to meet your family and friends.

There is no reason he should not want to meet them; they are important people in your life, and they will also be important people in his life.

If he does not want to meet them, it means he is not serious about you, which is bad news.

My boyfriend, now husband, asked me for my parents’ contact and he spoke with them to show how serious he was.

8. He respects your opinion

A man who respects your opinion will listen when you talk about something that concerns him or affects him directly or indirectly.

He will also be open-minded enough to learn something new from what you have to say because that is the only way for him to grow as a person and partner in a relationship.

If a guy doesn’t respect you or your opinions, especially in a long-distance relationship where you don’t have the luxury of seeing each other physically, something isn’t right.

No doubt, a long-distance relationship is not for the faint-hearted.

But it doesn’t mean a guy can’t be serious about marrying you just because distance is a challenge.

Mine married me.

These are positive signs he will marry you in a long distance relationship.
